The alliance between the Marion Institute, the Zeri Foundation and Las Gaviotas helps you to measure the amount of CO2 you produce annually and offers you an opportunity to neutralize or 'offset' that amount through a plan of ecosystem regeneration that will continually reabsorb CO2.
Our carbon calculations are based on the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and the scientific experience of the ZERI Foundation and Las Gaviotas.
Las Gaviotas is a project that regenerates the rainforest converting the savannah back into the ecosystem that is used to be. Thanks to the high capacity of its trees, the undergrowth and the topsoil to absorb green house gases, Las Gaviotas offers an excellent opportunity to offset one's carbon emissions while also participating in the care and regeneration of an entire ancient ecosystem.
This initiative is designed and developed by Paolo Lugari and the opportunity to voluntarily offset one's carbon footprint is provided through the Marion Institute. The ZERI Foundation will act as the verification agency qualifying the results and efficacy of the carbon sequestration project at Las Gaviotas.
